<image:caption>Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA) As the Director of AAWAA, I worked to ensure the creation of spaces and opportunities for Asian American women in the arts. Starting out as a volunteer in 2014, I also participated in AAWAA’s Emerging Curators Program in 2016 and went on to curate and manage many exhibitions along with AAWAA’s website and membership directory. Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center (APICC) At APICC, I managed the organization’s signature United States of Asian America Festival (from 2018-2022) and many other programs throughout the year, cultivating skills and providing a platform for numerous artists and event producers. Kearny Street Workshop (KSW) KSW remains to be an organization near and dear to many in San Francisco’s AAPI arts community as a starting point for many emerging artists and curators through its annual festival, APAture. I served as APAture Festival Coordinator in 2017 and 2019 and continue to support and stay connected in community. <image:caption>Diana Li is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, currently residing and working in Huchiun, unceded Ohlone land. Diana’s work is eclectic and evolving, from sound and video installations glitching diasporic memories, crochet affirmation clothing and accessories to linocut prints of mythological creatures. A self-proclaimed hija de chifa y chicha,* she traverses time and space to draw closer to the cultural lineage of her Chinese Cantonese and Peruvian ancestry. Diana has also worked as an arts organizer and served as the Director of the Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA) from 2020-2024. With 10 years of experience volunteering, curating and managing multiple exhibitions, programs and festivals through various Asian American focused organizations–like Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, Kearny Street Workshop and AAWAA–Diana has worked to uplift and empower a diverse community of artists. In 2024, Diana made a career shift. She is currently studying and working as an emerging landscape gardener, while prioritizing time to work on her art. Hija de Chifa y Chicha* My lineage is of Chinese Cantonese and Peruvian ancestry. I am continuously learning about the indigenous lands my ancestors and I have resided on and acknowledge the imperialist powers and systems of extraction and exploitation that have erased this knowledge from my lineage.
